KOSOFE YOUTH WALK FOR AWARENESS OF ACTIVE PARTICIPATION OF YOUTH IN THE FORTHCOMING ELECTION.

  The Youth Walk led by the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA (Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada), Agboyi-ketu LCDA chairman (Dele Osinowo) and Hon.Ganiyu Okanlawon (OKLA) in their thousands walked and danced from Maryland to Peace Park with drums and trumpets distributing leaflets, handbills and materials of Alhaja Kafilat Ogbara and all APC candidates that Portrays the importance of active participation of youth in Kosofe LGA.  Some inscriptions on materials shared on the posters and handbills urge citizens to vote right by voting the All Progressives Congress Candidates and not to sell their votes as this is tantamount to “selling their future” and it is “when votes count that democracy would be consolidated”. Abia Police Begin Massive Arrests

As a result of the reported shooting of some police officers nearby, there have been mounting worries about the widespread arrests of residents in the Ndiegoro neighborhood of Aba by members of the Abia State Police Command. Fidel Info  reports that following the murder of a police inspector last Wednesday by local gunmen, two of the assailants were also killed, these arrests were made. NEWSINEC To Train Over 1.4M Adhoc Staff On BVAS Usage

  In order to use the Bimodal Voter Registration Systems (BVAS) effectively for the Nigerian general elections in 2023, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, announced that more than 1.4 million adhoc staff members would receive training. Fidel Info  reports that this statement was made by Festus Okoye, the national commissioner of INEC, in an interview for the Channels TV program “2022 In Retrospect, an End-Of-Year special.” In addition, the Commission said it has sufficient BVAS to conduct elections in the 176,846 polling units nationwide. He said, “We want to train our ad hoc staff longer so that we won’t have people not knowing how to use the BVAS and blaming it on technology and so on.” “The BVAS, which we said will be the game-changer in relation to this election, is in place. NUT Commends Governor AbdulRazaq Over Housing Estate Plan For Kwara Teachers

The Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Kwara State, has commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq over his planned housing scheme for teachers in the state. Fidel Info  reports that the body described the initiative as a first in the history of the state, noting teachers are happy with the housing scheme. Governor AbdulRazaq has turned around the education sector in Kwara State, as teachers get their salaries and entitlements as and when due unlike under the previous government where they suffered late payment, amputated salaries and non-payment. The Governor has also embarked on a massive reconstruction and rehabilitation of schools across the three senatorial districts of the state, including capacity building trainings for teachers.
